The Moloyan Journalism Initiative champions the fundamental principles of democracy by tirelessly advocating for a free and independent Armenian press. Our mission is rooted in the belief that a well-informed citizenry is the bedrock of a just and equitable society.
Named in honor of Gabriel Moloyan’s tireless dedication to the Armenian community, the Initiative is dedicated to advancing the principles of truth, transparency, and civic engagement through impactful journalism. We aim to promote the representation of Armenian issues within the ever evolving landscape of global media. Our goals are to:
Amplify Armenian Voices
Elevate the diverse perspectives, stories, and experiences within Armenia and the global Armenian community, fostering a deeper understanding of our rich heritage and contemporary challenges.
Promote Civic Discourse
Facilitate informed and constructive dialogue on critical issues to the Armenian citizenry and the diaspora while encouraging critical thinking and community engagement.
Empower Emerging Journalists
Provide a platform for aspiring Armenian journalists to develop their skills, connect with experienced mentors, and contribute to the media landscape.
Advocate for Freedom of the Press
Actively support and advocate for press freedom, recognizing its fundamental role in maintaining a vibrant and informed society.
The Initiative is an integral part of the advocacy programming by the Armenian Council of America (ACA).
